2020 started on a bad note for International Zimbabwean Cricket player Tarisai Musakanda who has been sacked for drunk driving.
Tarisai axed for alcohol conviction in Australia and his stint has ended prematurely. The news about his axing has sent shockwaves to his supports who were hoping he would represent them impeccably abroad.
Tarisai was recently beaming with pride when he bagged the job as New City’s Cricket Club’s highest-profile import, but his dream has come to an abrupt end. This is after he was nabbed and convicted for drunk driving. Tirisai was on the verge of building a successful career and becoming a household name abroad as a cricket player now he is faced with a burden of regaining his reputation as he is back home.
New City representatives said they had to amicably take a drastic decision to send him the player home due to his conduct that has since been described as unethical and not in principle with the clubs’ aspirations it seeks to uphold.
“His behavior is not representative of the values we hold dear at the New City Cricket Club,” New City president Chris Green told the Border Mail
He further emphasized that they will continue to grow in leaps and bounds despite this ordeal however they had to release the player “We’ll grow into a very strong club for a long time, but if we didn’t take a stand now, we won’t.”
