The Frontline With Niasha: Natasha Muz Exclusive Interview

When someone near and dear to your heart gets older for another year, you’ll want to do everything you can to make their day extra memorable.

We recently had a conversation with Zimbabwe’s legendary Hip Hop Queen, Natasha Muz, just a few minutes after she turned a year older.

Before I start this interview with you my Queen I would like to say these birthdays are a new start, a fresh beginning and a time to pursue new endeavors with new goals. Move forward with confidence and courage. You are a very special person. May today and all of your days be amazing!

Natasha Muz is a female artist based in Zimbabwe. Her true identity is Natasha Muromba, recipient of the 2018 Queen of Hip Hop Award. The best female recipient of the 2017 n 2018 Chitown award. Best Chorus Changamire Award winner 2019.

Where did you grow up and what were you like as a kid? I was born n bred in Chitown n as a kid

What did you say you wanted to be when you grow up? I always wanted to be a star kkkk to be known out there as a singer

How did you get into music? Well, I used to write Neyo, Celine Dion songs, Chris Brown, Rihanna in my jotter book then started performing at xool variety shows n I remember winning the first position at high school. Well then I joined the choir at church and sang praise and worship, then I started doing the real thing in 2013 when I recorded my first song at mic Burnez Muzik with Producer Real beats, then later I moved to No Limits Entertainment with producer jam.

What did you want to be before you realized you had a passion for music?
 We’ll first things first I admitted that I was now a different person. I was now an artist buh the character ..attitude..never changed. I was still me! Buh on the other side it was now different coz I would spend much time in the studio n this artistic thing got me to be a very busy person coz there is much work that needs to b put…I can say I managed quite well.

How did growing up in Chi-Town help shape Natasha Muz as an artist? Well the thing that inspires me were things that were surrounding me if I look at a thing that’s happening at that current moment I start vibing to it n create something from it

What inspired you to focus on music?  Do meaningful songs n visuals n have proper marketing strategies for their work.

What are your thoughts on the current state of Hip Hop and what do you think could be done better? Wow, there is much pressure currently in the industry n basing on everybody is trying to win .everyone ids tryna make n there a lot of competition in it ..coming to our works we deliver um taking about songs..lyrics..storylines, etc trust me we on point but what I think could be done is we need to hit the international market n reach those high goals standard …and do visuals n songs that last longer..above all work as unity n fight.

5 nominations in Changamire Festival Awards which one do you want the most? I want them all but still appreciate what’s going to come.

Let’s talk about Queen Speech is it an Album or EP Coz it is nominated as the Best Album.   Its an EP.

What advice would you give to an upcoming rapper? Stay focused n work hard n make sure every step you take and work you put in. make sure you deliver

Any word of wisdom to the youth of our motherland Zimbabwe?  Let’s all fight n help each other n help those in need ..including our orphans …help our industry to grow in every circle….n let’s fight for our country Zim to be seen on the map in every aspect!!!
