The Frontline With Niasha: Roxcy Biey Exclusive Interview

Recently had an opportunity to have a chat with one of the future female artists from Bulawayo Roxcy Biey.

Roxcy Biey, was born Buhlebenkosi Dube on the 27th of October 1998 in Bulawayo. She is the third child in a family of five.

Roxcy Biey attended Mpumelelo Primary school starting in 2005. She would go on to do her Ordinary Level and Advanced Level Studies in Rwanda. Her earliest memory of music was similar to that of other artists, in school choirs and Sunday school. This is where a music leader at church realized that she could sing.

Besides the music, Roxcy Biey is also an aspiring model.

What was you like growing up?

I was staying at home with my grandma I wasn’t that kid who was sociable or rather shod I say outspoken I was shy and very quiet.

Starting up what were some of the challenges you faced?

I never faced such challenges when it came to the studio sessions except for negligence from ma parents because they never wanted m to sing.

How did you get your first break?

I got my first breakthrough a friend who knew a guy by the name Toisen who had a studio n e guy offered to record m jus so he feels if I am good enough.

How would you best describe Roxcy Biey’s state of mind in 2020?

Lol my state of mind wow. This year 2020 I want those who don’t know m to know m those who have never heard about m n ma music to hear m out actually I need the world to stop n listen.

When are you gonna an album?

For now ts too soon for me to drop an album so I will be dropping singles as of now n time to come.

What would you like to change about Zim Hip hop?

I would like to change the mindset of ladies I mean there are u few female singers out there who are willing to take the risk.

What projects are you currently working on?

For Now, I am working with Sinazo the award winner he featured me in his album one and also working with Msiz Kay the multiple award winner apparently his the one I am working with most of the time or lemme say he is the mastermind behind who I am now and time to come.

What do you look for in a life partner?

Lol life partner awww I want someone who does what am doing he should be an artist too. Someone who is understanding and sociable.

What do you do for fun?

I am always on ma phone but I like photoshoots and reading novels but not always ey.

Ladies don’t rush fo fame I know us, ladies, we were that but first, try to have as many connections as u can get it’s not about what you know it’s about who u know.

Any word of wisdom to the youth?

Put your diamonds in the light let them see u shine bright tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
