After putting on a stellar perfomance at his much anticipated album launch, Winky D has extended gratitude to his fans for their massive show of support. Although some efforts had been made to make the event a non success by circulation of fake messages online that the album launch had been cancelled, people thronged the HICC in large numbers to witness their favorite zimdancehall artist in action.
The new album is titled Njema and features songs such as Chandelier, Ijipita and Area 51. The album has been said to be the unshackling of mental chains by the artist. Some lambasted the singer for composing songs that bear political connotations but his fans have commended him for a well done album. Winky D also thanked patners such as Sasai and Vaya for being in board. He stated,”All Winky D Gafa music family helped me bring closure to the year”.
The singer indeed rounded off the year on a good note as evidenced by the successful album launch as well as his song with Gemma Griffiths “Murgaden” topping the Coke Studio top 50 chat. Winky D has released songs such as Bhachi nejean, finhu finhu and Area 51 among a whole lot of others. He has collaborated with both local and international singers such as Beenie man, Buffalo Souljah and Gemma Griffiths. He has graced international stages and perfomed at the Coke Studio.
